1950’s
& 60’s Television Commercial 16mm film-to-tape
transfer, edit, dvd production:
Cataloguing, film transfer preparation, film-to-tape
transfer supervision using a Rank Cintel. Film was transferred
to Betacam SP, dubbed to Digital Video (DV) Cam, downloaded
via firewire to G5 dual processor, edited in Final Cut
Pro, including special effects, titling, volume fades-in
& out, DVD production using DVD Studio Pro incorporating
titles, chaptering and credits, output to DVD with labeling
for distribution.
Memoirs
Book Design: Spot-edit, layout and design of
over 300 pages of text, incorporating photographs. Digital
scanning and manipulation of over 100 photographs using
PhotoShop CS, page layout and design using Quark 6.0,
archival printing and book binding. Results: 12 copies
of hard bound book for client’s family.
Christmas Letter Book Design: Scanning and
digital manipulation of handwritten and computer generated
Christmas Letters dating from 1968 – 2003. Design
and layout of book, printing on archival printer using
specially designated archivally sound paper and ink,
design of cover using memorabilia from the family, resulting
in several spirally bound books of more than 200 pages.
Japanese Family Photo Project: Assessment and
organization of family photos dating from 1925 to present.
Family history research, design and layout of photographic
albums using all acid-free archivally sound materials,
incorporating photographs, memorabilia and letters.
Photojournaling consultation/training with client. This
collection includes family history photographs from
Japan and Hawaii at the turn-of-the-century and moves
to California in the 1950’s through the present.
1930's & 40's MGM Movie Star Collection:
Identification, organization, appraisal, archiving and
design of over 300 autographs & autographed photos
of movie stars and other film industry professionals.
This private collection is valued at over $50,000 and
belongs to Mr. James Hoffman whose father was a sound
engineer for MGM (Culver City, California) under the
direction of Douglas Shearer. Layout of pages incorporating
the person's photograph and biography. Using various
methods of research including libraries, the internet,
and consulting/interviewing film historians attained
biographies. Design incorporates all fonts, templates,
layout and colors of the era. When only the autograph
was available photos were scanned or downloaded from
the computer and placed next to the autograph giving
an added visual experience to the page.
Family Archivist to the Rhode-Brown Family:
Organization of dozens of boxes of photos and documents
dating from the early 1900's to 1986 for Dr. Juliet
Rohde-Brown of Montecito, California. This project included
the assembly of over 12 memory albums including Dr.
Rohde-Brown's Father's WWII Album. Videotaped oral history
interviewing Mr. Frederick Martin Rohde while looking
through his family history and WWII Memory Albums and
commenting on the photographs.
Brown/First National Bank Archivist: Preliminary
assessment and cataloguing of photographic and document
collection dating to the mid 1800's. This collection
hails from the prominent banking family of James-Paul
Brown from Crown Point, Indiana and includes thousands
of photographs and paper documenting the start of First
National Bank as well as the Brown family. It also consists
of diaries, letters from Civil War veterans, family
genealogical history, land deeds and marriage licenses
all dating back to the 1800's.
van Berkhout Homemovie Transfer: Film transfer
(4 hours) of 8mm and Super 8mm film dating from 1958
to 1972 which were homemovies shot by Mr. Pieter van
Berkhout. Cataloguing and describing all footage via
visible timecode, constructing an edit list and finally
editing the transferred footage to 1.5 hours. Supervis–
ing and technically conducting Mrs. van Berkhout during
her narration session. Supervising dubbing sessions
designing video j-card and. |
